BENGALURU: ISRO’s heaviest rocket LVM3 will launch 36 broadband satellites by British startup OneWeb from Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota spaceport on October 23, marking the entry into the service market. Global commercial launch of the launcher.
LVM3 was previously known as GSLV Mk III.
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) with headquarters in Bengaluru said that the launch of ‘LVM3 – M2 / OneWeb India-1 Mission’ is scheduled at 00:00 IST on 23rd October (midnight). October 22).

Earlier this month, ISRO said that NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), a central public sector enterprise (CPSE) affiliated to the Ministry of Space and the commercial arm of the space agency, had signed two launch service contracts with The Network Access Association is based in the UK. Limited (OneWeb) to launch OneWeb LEO (low earth orbit) broadband communications satellite aboard ISRO’s LVM3.
This is the first commercial launch exclusively for LVM3 on demand through NSIL.
“This contract with M/s OneWeb is a historic milestone for NSIL and ISRO, as LVM3, is entering the global commercial launch services market,” it said.
The newest rocket is capable of launching a 4-ton class of satellites into a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO).
The LVM3 is a three-stage vehicle with two solid motor straps, a liquid-propelled core stage and a cryogenic stage.
Bharti Enterprises of India is the major investor and shareholder in OneWeb.

 New Delhi [India], October 14 (ANI): Lashing out at Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal over Gujarat AAP president Gopal Italia's recent remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother, Union Minister Smriti Irani on Friday said Kejriwal "falling to new lows is not surprising".
"With blessings of Arvind Kejriwal, AAP leadership in Gujarat maliciously attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 100-year-old mother. That Kejriwal could fall to new lows is not surprising...Her only crime is she gave birth to Narendra Modi. Your leaders and workers seek to punish and abuse her," Irani told reporters here. Earlier, the Union Minister slammed Kejriwal in a Twitter post over Gopal Italia's remarks.
"Arvind Kejriwal, gutter mouth Gopal Italia now abuses Hira Ba with your blessings. I profer no outrage, I do not want to show how indignant Gujaratis are but know this you have been judged and your party shall be decimated electorally in Gujarat. Now the people will deliver justice," tweeted Irani.
Italia was detained by the Delhi Police after he was summoned by the National Commission of Women (NCW) on Thursday. The NCW chief summoned Italia over a controversial video, in which he purportedly used derogatory language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A video of Italia had gone viral in which he is purportedly heard asking the women not to visit the temples and 'kathas' (sermons by Hindu priests) as they are "hubs of exploitation". This comes days after he allegedly made a casteist remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in yet another viral video.
Amid political slugfest in the run-up to the Assembly elections in Gujarat, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday hit out at AAP over its state chief Gopal Italia's recent remarks which have triggered reactions from BJP.
BJP national general secretary CT Ravi said that AAP has an old habit of doing drama, however, the party would not succeed in Gujarat.
BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra slammed Italia over his remark.
"Calling the Prime Minister a lowly person is against the democratic rules of the country; it is an insult to the country. Be it any caste, or any religion, no person can be lowly," Patra had said at a press conference.
"An OBC Prime Minister who comes from a backward class, who comes from a poor and ordinary family, repeatedly calling him lowly, what is this abuse? Does the Aam Aadmi Party want to call the backwards-class people low? Anyone who rises from an ordinary poor family and becomes the Prime Minister is not lowly in the democratic process. No, it is against democratic values," he had added.
"The Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal are the people who said that they have come to change the character of India. If the democratically elected influential and hardworking Prime Minister is called lowly, and he is calling the PM lowly in that video, not once, but somewhere it shows the mentality of the Aam Aadmi Party," he had stated.  New Delhi [India], October 14 (ANI): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday conducted searches at multiple locations including the Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with a drone delivery case.
According to the NIA, no detentions in the matter have been made so far. In the past nine months, security forces have observed the illegal entry of 191 drones into Indian territory from neighbouring Pakistan, raising major concerns in terms of internal security in the country.
The central government recently shared the input from the security forces deployed at the India-Pakistan border to maintain such illegal attempts from the Pakistan side.
In the early hours today, troops of the Border Security Force (BSF) shot down a drone that entered India in Punjab's Gurdaspur sector from the Pakistan side on the International Border.
It is pertinent to mention that in the past nine months the army personnel have observed 191 drones, of which 171 entered into Indian territory through the India-Pakistan border along the Punjab sector while 20 were seen in the Jammu sector, a document accessed by the ANI mentioned.
As per the document, the "UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) observation in Indo-Pak border was seen in Punjab and Jammu frontier with effect from January 1, 2022, to September 30, 2022".
The document further revealed that most of these drones or UAVs managed to flee while a total of seven have been shot down by the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, who have been deployed along the India-Pakistan border to keep a tab on such illegal activities being orchestrated by Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence.
Officials in the BSF told ANI that the drones are being used by Pakistan's side to transport weapons, explosives and narcotics across the international border in Jammu and Punjab from Pakistan.
The increased drone activity across the border was brought to the notice of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the security review meeting in Srinagar recently with top security and intelligence chiefs in attendance. While BSF, which means the international border with Pakistan in the Jammu sector, believes that it has been able to repel drones carrying arms, ammunition and explosives from Pakistan, the state police and the intelligence agencies differ with this assessment.
The security forces have seized various AK series assault rifles, pistols, MP4 carbines, carbine magazines, high explosive grenades as well as narcotics which were transported into Indian territory from Pakistan from the drones shot down so far.
As per security agencies, BSF intelligence inputs and Jammu and Kashmir Police officials, the drones are also used to drop packets of Afghan heroin for financing terror operations in the Valley and Punjab.
It is learnt that the group behind the transportation of weapons, explosives and drugs is Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba and other terror outfits which has camps across the International Boundary and is backed by ISI.
The Home Ministry is learnt to have directed the concerned agencies to find out a solution to stop drone activities and meanwhile security agencies and law enforcement forces are asked to keep a special watch on such movements.
According to the document accessed by ANI, the seven drones that were shot down by the BSF troops between January 1 to September 15 were observed in Punjab's Amritsar, Ferozpur and Abohar regions.
As per inputs, the first drone was shot down by the BSF on January 18 in Punjab's Amritsar near Havelian Border Out Post (BoP). The BSF personnel on February 13 again shot down another drone soon after it entered Indian territory and was observed near CB Chand BoP in Amritsar. The BSF personnel also shot down two drones on March 7 and March 9 in Ferozpur's TJ Singh and Amritsar's Havelian BoPs respectively.
On April 29, the BSF personnel shot down a drone near Pulmoran BoP in Amritsar. The BSF personnel also shot down another drone on May 8 when it was observed near Bharopal BoP in Amritsar. The last drone shot down by the BSF personnel was observed on June 26 near Jhanger BoP in the Abohar region of Punjab. (ANI)

 New Delhi [India],(ANI): The Election Commission (EC) is likely to announce the schedule of assembly polls in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh on Friday, said sources.
According to sources, EC will hold a press briefing this afternoon where it is expected to announce the dates for Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh assembly elections. The press conference will be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The term of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly will end in January next year, while that of Gujarat in February 2023.

 New Delhi, Oct 14 (IANS) Union Minister Smriti Irani on Friday launched a blistering attack on Aam Aadmi Party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and blamed him for the statements made by AAP's Gujarat's chief Gopal Italia.

"Italia insulted 100-year-old Hiraben, the mother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She was maliciously attacked by AAP. I say the words of Kejriwal are being spoken by Italia. And I dare Kejriwal to come to Gujraat and speak such words... You (Kejriwal) are not sparing a 100-year-old woman who has nothing to do with politics. I dare you Mr. Kejriwal to come to Gujarat and speak your own words," Irani said while speaking to mediapersons here.

She said that attacking a 100-year-old woman will turn into a big political defeat for the AAP. She said the people of Gujarat have now decided to teach the AAP a political lesson.

"If you (AAP) think that attacking a 100-year-old woman, just because she is mother of the PM, will help you gain in politics, you are mistaken. This is Gujarat and Gujarati will make you pay for this in the upcoming elections," she said.

Irani said that by such statements which were made by Italia at the instructions of Kejriwal, the Gujarati sentiments were hurt.

She said that it was not the first time Italia did that, and while Kejriwal was well aware of his record, the whole party supported the serial offender.

"You (AAP) abuse us, abuse our organisation but don't hurl abuses at a 100-year-old woman. This is unacceptable. People will not spare such a political attempt. Gujaratis will now bring AAP to political justice," said Irani.

She repeated that it was a malicious attack on the PM's mother which was being done at the behest of Kejriwal. She said that to be in the limelight, AAP can do anything.

"For a mere political profit AAP can stoop to such a low. This is your character Mr. Kejriwal. How can you hurl abuses at the mother of someone just because he is your political rival. Everything is happening at Kejriwal's order," she again claimed.

Irani said that how Kejriwal can call him the 'Avatar of Lord Krishna' even after abusing a 100-year-old woman, and added, "what was stopping Kejriwal to throw Italia out of his party".

"Kejriwal, why are you making someone (Italia) say your words, I dare you to speak your words openly, if you have guts. How can women feel safe under your regime," she said.

Recently, two old videos of Italia surfaced, one in which he criticises Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "neech" politics, and another in which he makes derogatory remarks against women.

 Bettiah (Bihar) [India], October 14 (ANI): In a shooting incident, four people were injured in Bihar's Bettiah under the Jogapatti police station limits on Thursday.
The incident took place when unidentified miscreants entered a home and shot four people after that they were admitted to the nearest hospital. Superintendent of Police (SP) Upendra Nath Verma said, "One man entered a house and shot four people in the Jogapatti police station area. The accused was nabbed with the help of villagers."
The police said that the ward member of Dumri village Raja Babu Patel, his brother Vijay Kumar Patel and two other villagers- Sudhan Manjhi and Rustam Mian were injured in the firing. Raja Babu Patel is shot in the neck.
"In the hospital, Raja Babu Patel said that he was sitting at the door of the house with his brother. Meanwhile, a man covering his face came and opened fire. The bullet hit his throat," the police said.
The police further said that the other three were shot while trying to catch the accused.
The accused was caught by the locals when he tried to flee the spot.
Following the incident, one accused was arrested by the police. Further investigations are underway. A further probe is underway. (ANI)

According to the officials, these vehicles have been made in India by private sector firms.

 Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], October 13 (ANI): The Enforcement Directorate has arrested IAS officer Sameer Vishnoi from Chhattisgarh after questioning him in a money laundering case, sources told ANI.
The enforcement agency has also arrested Sunil Agarwal of Indramani Group and Laxmikant Tiwari, a relative of businessman Suryakant Tiwari who's currently under the agency's scanner, they said, adding that raids were carried out on Tuesday in Raigadh, Raipur, Durg and Mahasamund. ED found Rs 4 crore in cash during the raids in, besides unaccounted jewellery and gold too were recovered. The sources said that government officials were running an alleged extortion racket by imposing illegal levies and collecting Rs 25 per tonne from coal suppliers.
Incriminating documents have been seized from the offices and residences of senior IAS officers, they added. (ANI)

 Una (Himachal Pradesh) [India], October 13 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off Vande Bharat Express from Una railway station today during his visit to the mountain state.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur were also present on the occasion.
According to Prime Minister's Office (PMO), running from Amb Andaura to New Delhi, it is the fourth Vande Bharat train that has been introduced in the country and is an advanced version compared to the earlier ones, being much lighter and capable of reaching higher speed in shorter duration.
It accelerates to 100 km per hour in just 52 seconds. The introduction of the train will help boost tourism in the region and provide a comfortable and faster mode of travel.
Heralding a new era of comfortable and enhanced rail travel experience, the new Vande Bharat Express is now ready for a commercial run today.
This is the fourth Vande Bharat train in the country, the other three being run between New Delhi - Varanasi and New Delhi - Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and between Gandhinagar and Mumbai.
According to Railways, the new Vande Bharat trains have improved features including reclining seats, automatic fire sensors, CCTV cameras, on-demand content with wifi Facility, three-hour battery backup and GPS systems to make travelling safer and more comfortable.
The Integral Coach Factory has set a target of manufacturing 75 Vande Bharat trains by August 2023.
It also has a photocatalytic ultraviolet air purification system in the roof-mounted package unit (RMPU) for air purification.
