Los Angeles, Oct 12 (IANS) Disney has paused its film schedule, delaying the releases of 'Blade', 'Deadpool 3', 'Fantastic Four' and other major Marvel properties.
As part of the shuffle, 'Blade' has moved from November 3, 2023, to September 6, 2024.
'Deadpool 3' has relocated from September 6, 2024, to November 8, 2024; 'Fantastic Four' has shifted from November 8, 2024, to February 14, 2025; an untitled Marvel film has been pushed from February 14, 2025, to November 7, 2025; 'Avengers: Secret Wars' has been delayed from November 7, 2025, to May 1, 2026; and another untitled Marvel film set for May 1, 2026 has been removed from Disney's calendar, reports 'Variety'.
In non-comic book news, Searchlight's historical drama 'Chevalier', starring Kelvin Harrison Jr. as the musician Chevalier de Saint-Georges, will open in theaters on April 7, 2023; 'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes' is set for May 24, 2024; and 'A Haunting in Venice' is dated for September 15, 2023.
In the case of 'Blade', the yearlong postponement is unsurprising, given the recent news that Bassam Tariq exited the project, leaving the film without a director.
Marvel has paused the production -- starring Mahershala Ali as the title vampire slayer -- as the studio looks to hire a new helmer.
Given the interconnected storylines in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the substantial delay for 'Blade' reverberated on the rest of the films in development.
The next Marvel movie to hit the big screen will be November's 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever', which marks the end of Phase Four of the MCU.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced in July at San Diego Comic-Con that 'Fantastic Four' will kick off Phase Six, making 'Blade' and 'Deadpool 3' the final two films to round out Phase Five.

Do you yearn for celebrating Dussehra and watching Ramleela an epic show which was staged across cities at various vantage points?
In Mumbai, Ramleela is held at Chowpatty while in Delhi it is staged at Lal Kila. The last day which marked the burning of the evil king Ravana was the highlight where 1 arrow of Ram set the effigy of Ravana in flames.
Today in our hectic lives our children fail to know about this epic, what they learn is through the antics of Hanuman on the telly or YouTube. How about letting your child learn about the classic Ramleela?
1- Travelogue of the past showing cultural diversity
Do you know Ramleela was first played in the 16th century as during those days it was the only source for kids’ travelogue? Now we have travelogue from National Geographic and Lonely Planet for toddlers. But till date we can use it to understand the culture and values during ancient and modern world.
As Rama travels through the forest with his wife Sita and brother Laxman, they see the forest and wild life of that area.
As Sita who gets abducted by Ravana is carried away by him in a chariot, she calls out to the wildlife and describes her fate to vegetation, birds and animals.
As Rama travels to Sri Lanka to get his wife back, he comes across people with different values and culture. This demonstrates cultural diversity and tolerance to different cultures even during those times.
2-Social Equality
You can teach your child about social equality through Ramleela as Rama treats all his warriors with same regard.
Ramleela has always been traditionally a great leveler between the rich and poor and segments of society as people from all the segment of society come together to watch Ramleela.
3-Values and culture
With the advent of digital world and availability of humungous number of cartoon series, video games, it is difficult to teach our children about rich Indian values and culture. Ramleela is not just a story, but also an educational medium to demonstrate the importance of values such as loving and respecting your family, keeping your promises, protecting the weak.
4-Ideal relation
In a world where algorithms are used to build ideal relations, Ramleela depicts that during ancient times also the girl had liberty to choose her groom in swayamvar and even after leading a luxurious life of a princess follow her husband while in exile.
Ram Leela also depicts characters that we should aspire to be like, such as the ideal father, ideal son, ideal brother, ideal leader, ideal wife, etc.
5-Demarcate Right and Wrong
Ramleela can help you teach your child the difference between right and wrong and always choosing right path no matter how tough it is.
Even in doer of evil, resides a pandit Ravana, who was a learned king. But his one wrong act caused his decline and made it a punishable offence.
When Rama was banished from Ayodhya, Bharat could have easily accepted the throne rather when he learnt the reason for Rama’s exile, he performed all the duties of a king without accepting to be the crowned king.
Thus, proving that even if something is extremely desirable, one should still distinguish between right and wrong and accept the most lucrative thing in a fair way.
6-Value your words
Ramleela can be a great source to teach your child the importance to keep your words at any cost.
Dasharatha had granted Kaikeyi two boons when she had saved his life on the battlefield. When Kaikeyi asked Dasharatha to make Bharat the new king and send Rama to exile, no matter how hard it was for Dasharatha to send his beloved son to exile. He just kept his words and did as asked, setting perfect example of how to keep your words at any cost.
7-Love and Respect for Parents
Ramleela is a perfect fable to teach the child about loving your family and respecting their decisions. Rama’s insistence on keeping the promise made by his father also shows the deep love and devotion that he had for his parents. He willingly chose to spend 14 years in exile in a forest to protect his father’s much respected honour.
8-Protecting the Weak
From Ramleela child will learn to stand for protecting the weak.
Jatayu, an aged demigod in the form of a vulture, witnessed Ravana kidnapping Sita and forcefully taking her to Lanka. Jatayu tried to save Sita by fighting Ravana valiantly but failed. Rama and Lakshman came across him where he was lying breathing his last. Jatayu informed Rama about Sita’s whereabouts and Ravana’s plans before breathing his last. Moved to tears by the gallantry and courage of the aged Jatayu, Rama gave the bird its last rites as though the bird was his father.

For a student it takes time to procure a good Tanpura and more importantly tune the instrument perfectly in order to practice. For children this may be a difficult task to perform. Hence the electronic Tanpura was innovated by Radel Electronics. Though the reception to this instrument was slow initially, the idea picked up among the students who travelled for work or studies. They found it as an easy replacement to carry around. Practice could be done anywhere, anytime!
In this era of Smartphones and apps, the idea of electronic Tanpura took no time to upgrade into the app. These apps are auto tuned, hence demand no skill from the student. Students only need to choose the right key and they can find a perfectly tuned Tanpura playing for their practice. The Tanpura is in one’s pocket and using earphones and playing it to oneself could be a good option to practice sometimes. Though apps cannot replace the feel of the original Tanpura, the apps are used at concerts and sometimes in order to maintain an accurate reference even to the real Tanpura. Real instruments are often affected by weather and strong lights, but the apps perform accurately.
Be seated in a cross legged posture on a mat.
Place the Tanpura on your lap
Rest your right arm in parallel to the stem of the Tanpura. Thumb rests on the stem. Your fingers need to be almost parallel to the strings.
Strum using the left edge of your fingers. For Pancham, use middle finger. For the three Sa strings use fore finger.
For Hindustani style play all four strings at equal intervals.
For Carnatic style play Pancham for 2 counts.
You could also play the Tanpura keeping it horizontally. The seating would be cross legged position.
Choose the Tanpura of your Shruti-
Use a reference of a standard tuned Harmonium/Shruti box/Electronic Tanpura/Tanpura app for tuning the Jodi strings.
Tuning is done by tightening or loosening the strings using the knobs or Khoonti. Tighten the string to increase the pitch. Loosen the string to reduce the pitch.
Use the beads or Mankas provided at the bottom of the strings below the bridge. Pulling the Manka down, tightens the string. Pushing it up loosens the string. Adjust the placement of the Mankas simultaneously playing the string.
Notice the threads placed below the strings on the bridge. These threads can be slided up or down till you achieve the desired tone. Do this as you are continuously playing the string.
Using the Radel Tanpura-
The electronic Tanpuras by Radel or any other company are auto tuned. To use the device follow the steps give below after switching on the device:
Choosing your pitch-
Select from G, G#, A, A# for a female voice and C, C#, D for a male voice. A child’s voice could range from G# to B. Use the increase and decrease arrows to choose your pitch.Setting Octave
Make sure that your Tanpura is in Octave 3, this is presented by the suffix - A3 . In a real Tanpura the strings of different gauge are used for a female voice Tanpura and a male voice Tanpura.
String Selection-
For the first string of your Tanpura – 3 options are given - Pa , Ma , Ni. By default the Tanpura is in Pa. You may change it to Ma or Ni when you are required to sing Ragas which do not include Pa in the Aaroh Avaroh. For general purpose, make sure that your first string option selected is Pa.
Hindustani and Carnatic Pluck-
In the Hindustani pluck style, the Pancham is played for a shorter duration of one count sustain. The four strings are played at uniform intervals. In the Carnatic pluck, the first string Pa is played for a longer duration of 2 counts sustain. The Sa strings are played for one count. Choose your pluck style by pressing and holding 2 arrow switches as indicated on the device.
The e-Tanpura allows you to select the scale you’d like to practice in.

Did you know, the Carnatic flute has had a historical reputation of being an accompanying instrument to vocalists?
In fact, it was Guru T. R. Mahalingam who popularised the Carnatic flute and brought it to centre-stage as a solo instrument. Unlike the Hindustani Bansuri, the Carnatic flute as a tradition has been played in the ‘gayaki’ style, as audiences expect to hear the vocal music through the flute. And this is exactly what Guru T. R. Mahalingam was able to bring to them, thus gaining acceptance amongst the lovers of vocal music. In the following years, Dr N. Ramani and Shri S. P. Natarajan, disciples of Guru T. R. Mahalingam, continued their Guru’s legacy, further broadening the performance scope for the Carnatic flute.
Shashank Subramanyam is a self-taught flautist. His early lessons in vocal music under Palaghat K. V. Narayanswami laid the foundation for his musical prowess. Guided by his father Prof. Subramanyam, Shashank very ably adapted his vocal learnings to flute playing, thus establishing his very own style. With a non-conventional training, by observing his father’s fingering techniques on the flute, and through concerts with Hindustani musicians, Jazz artistes, and other collaborations, Shashank brings uniquely, advanced techniques to flute playing. The challenges faced, especially during collaborations, led him to modify the Carnatic flute, which is originally ‘defective’ with very sharp notes. This invariably meant compromising on one’s musical talent. In collaboration with the master flute-maker Harshvardhan ji, Shashank spent many hours in perfecting the Carnatic flute, thus popularising it as ‘Shashank’s style of flute’. His innovative technique of introducing in-built tunnels in a 7-holed Carnatic bamboo flute, thereby lowering it by one octave, has brought in tremendous ease in playing. This brilliant touch has brought to the flute a rounder, mellower, tone.
Shashank’s association with mygurukul brings with it a huge advantage for the students, who can now gain from his experience of over 30 years. According to Shashank, a lot of Carnatic music lessons can benefit students of Hindustani music too. By adopting the exercises, a student can practice various patterns, thus enhancing their efficiency, as well as widening their musical horizons.

You have a natural inclination as a painter to translate and interpret the language of nature. It simply cannot be the case that you never feel the intense want to paint objects you come across in daily life. Additionally, artists have long drawn inspiration from natural phenomena. Do you recall the daffodils?
And who can forget The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh? There are numerous instances where nature has sparked the dormant artistic propensities of geniuses. Like many other natural occurrences, the breathtaking beauty of a sunset has inspired numerous notable works of art. Famous artists have painted numerous famous sunsets. And for that reason, this essay aims to provide you with some advice on painting the sunset.
If you are just learning how to paint you might want to attempt depicting the breathtaking scenery of a sunset on your canvas. And while you can experiment with colors all you like, it is crucial that you first become familiar with sunset painting techniques.
Go-To-Guide With Advice For Painting the Sunset
Observe everything you can
It takes a lot of effort to manifest something in reality solely from the slits of your mind. If you aren't familiar (to say the least) or totally in love with the minute details that surround a natural occurring, you can't merely expect to produce a masterpiece. It's crucial that you observe in order to indulge to that degree. You can read and understand the subject's context by engaging in observation.
Therefore, go outside and actually observe a sunset before you begin painting. Take note of the color patterns that are now occurring in the sky. Make a mental note of all the hues, gradations, and forms that are visible in the sky at that moment, and keep these observations in mind for later.
Take a Photo
Simply put, there are too many observations to be made in one sunset's complete duration. Thanks to technology, neither of those things are necessary. Simply take out your camera phone and take a few pictures of the current situation if you are unsure that your memory will be able to keep all of the information you are taking in. You may simply go home when the show is finished and look at the images whenever you like. When you wish to utilise a reference when painting, you may also use these images as one.
In fact, many artists use this sunset painting approach to help them remember and see the image better.
Start by doing the hard work.
It's time to go to work now that you have a reference in hand. Making the appropriate color selections for a sunset painting would be the first step in this route. The colors that are typically used to paint a sunset are various shades of red, crimson, magenta, yellow, and orange.
However, you also need some violets and blues. The color scheme you decide on heavily depends on the sunset phase you intend to paint. If the painting is meant to depict the beginning of the sunset, you should use more yellow and orange as well as paler tones of blue.
If the painting's purpose is to depict the later phases of sunset, which are closer to twilight, you will use more blues, violets, and reds.
Additionally, you must be very careful while selecting the tones of these colors for painting. A single shade can damage an entire piece of art, and a lighter shade can completely destroy the spirit of it. Decide on your shades carefully, and only proceed with your painting after being certain of them.
Strike it Right
Choosing the appropriate colors is crucial, but that is just the beginning. They must be positioned precisely within the artwork. To achieve the same effects as the genuine picture, one method is to accurately duplicate the reference. You might want to use a round brush to fluff up any cloud formations in the sky.
Additionally, you would need to learn to gradually decrease the intensity as the strokes move away from the source of light while using brighter colors where you are depicting the source of light. Cooler hues should therefore be employed far from a light source. Correct blending and gradient mixing can achieve this. The distance from the light source should also be marked for any clouds.
Brushes Do Matter
Your brush's size and form are key factors in producing the best strokes on your canvas. So be sure to also consider those factors.
Once you are certain that everything has been double-checked, you can begin painting and then go with your gut feeling and inclinations.
So that's basically all there is to know about sunset painting methods. To learn more about sunset paintings, you can browse well-known sunset paintings by well-known artists on websites like Indian Art Ideas which sells paintings online.
