Can We Pause ageing process?

Date : 30-Sep-2022

Japanese scientists researching a lot to keep us younger forever.

"zombie cell"(senescent cell) Causes damage or death of neighbour cell.

The current pandemic continuously emergence of new viruses such as monkey pox, tomato flu, Langya viruse ( recently found in China) has shattered the world, and due to which the importance of biotechnology has been grown up.

Now a days, All peoples are Curious to know about all recent researches that are going in this field. Biotechnology is a branch of science which deals with the study of living organism & its application to change or modify them for human welfare.
Our scientist will never disappoint us. Like covid vaccine, one more research on "antiageing" Add a feather in a cap of biotech.
Ageing is a normal process through which everyone has to go . Grey hairs, wrinkled skin, knee pain are easily detectable because they are physical changes but age related diseases like cancer,Alzehimer,Atherosclerosis(arteries blockage) are skipped from our eyes.
Japanese scientist investing a lot in hope of keeping us young forever. They recently successfully made a vaccine which stops the ageing process through gene editing and biotechnology. Scientist team soon try this vaccine on humans.
By modifying just one genes they are able to increases life expectancy of mice by 23% . This vaccine target senescent cells, these cells stop dividing due to damage, stress but don't die rather they get accumulated  as we grow older and also  releases chemicals which causes inflammation and damage neighbour cell.
According to National Institute of ageing (NIA) suggested that accumulated senescent cells causes low immunity as well as cancer, Alzehimer and arteries blockage old age related diseases.
To develop their antiageing vaccine, the researchers selected a specific target, or "antigen," on senescent cells. But because cells throughout the body can become senescent, different senescent cells look different than one another, senior author Dr. Tohru Minamino, a professor at Juntendo University Graduate School of Medicine and the director of cardiovascular medicine at Juntendo University Hospital in Tokyo.
In their experiment, they selected a targeted protein named GPNMB (found in senescent cell) which releases more in heart patient and causes blockage in arteries,a vaccine( contains short protein) was injected in  mice (having blocked arteries). This vaccine directed mice immunesystem to destroy GPNMB protein by forming antibodies against it and saw positive results in mice. Vaccine shooted mice has prolonged lifespan compared to unvaccinated mice.
surprisingly, their team didn't observed  any side effects in thei vaccinated mice, Robbin said, since the GPNMB protein can be found on a variety of cells, not specific in senescent cells so may target healthy cells also he further said " "I don't think there's ever going to be an antigen that's specific to senescent cells," so there will always be a concern that the vaccine might send the immune system after healthy cells without intending to, he said. The researchers will have to look out for such effects as they move their vaccine toward human trials.
This vaccine is given to those people who  are above 50 so that their immune system would be trained to destroy ageing cell (senescent cell).
Would you like to take antiageing vaccine shots?
